At Sparkler Filters, we are committed to the highest standards of quality, safety, and compliance. Our filtration equipment meets and exceeds industry standards, ensuring superior performance, reliability, and regulatory compliance.
All Sparkler Filters' pressure vessels are ASME Section VIII, Division 1 certified. This certification is the gold standard for pressure vessels in the United States and is widely accepted in many other countries. Key benefits of ASME compliance include:
Each filter we sell is:
We are a National Board Registered facility, and filters shipped to U.S. states requiring National Board registration are registered accordingly. Customers requesting registration from non-mandatory states can specify their requirements during the order process.
For all exports to Canada, Sparkler Filters provides an application for a Canadian Registration Number (CRN), ensuring seamless regulatory compliance. All required engineering and related fees are included in the price of the filter.
According to our latest compliance review, our pressure vessels, which operate at 4-10 bar and handle non-hazardous liquids, do not require CE marking under the Pressure Equipment Directive (PED) 2014/68/EU. Based on Annex II, Table 4, pressure equipment containing Group 2 fluids (non-hazardous liquids) is categorized according to its pressure (PS) and volume (V).
For example, one of our larger horizontal plate filter vessels with a volume of 168 gallons (636 liters) and a pressure of 4.13 bar, the calculated PS × V value is 2,627 bar·L, which falls below the 10,000 bar·L threshold for Category I equipment. As a result, these vessels are classified under Sound Engineering Practice (SEP) in accordance with Article 4(3) of the Directive. Equipment under SEP does not require CE marking and cannot legally bear the CE mark.
For further verification, the full directive can be reviewed at the European Union’s official documentation site: 🔗 EUR-Lex: Pressure Equipment Directive 2014/68/EU
ASME certification ensures adherence to Sound Engineering Practice (SEP) and manufacturing standards. However, customers should verify specific regional and application-based regulatory requirements when exporting to the European market. Contact us if your application is classified as hazardous liquid or requires volumes resulting in >10,000 bar·L for a custom compliance review.
